What is the Teenage Pregnancy Partnership Board?

In every local authority area in England a Teenage Pregnancy Partnership Board exists, to ensure that actions are taken forward to reduce teenage pregnancies.

In Calderdale, the Teenage Pregnancy Partnership Board is a sub-group of the Children and Young People's Partnership Board (the Childrens' Trust Board for Calderdale).

All key partner organisations are represented on the Teenage Pregnancy Board. The Board is chaired by the Head of Commissioning and Partnerships, part of Calderdale Council's Children and Young People's Services Directorate. The Director of Public Health also sits on the Board and represents Calderdale Primary Care Trust.

The Voluntary and Community Sector are represented by Barnardos and a number of statutory commissioners and providers also sit on the Board.

The terms of reference for the Teenage Pregnancy Partnership Board are currently undergoing their annual revision but will be available to download from this page as soon as that process is completed.

The Board is currently considering how it can improve the involvement of younger people in its work.
