Childrens Centres offer an integrated approach to services for children and families, providing early years education and childcare, health services and family support, all under one roof. They act as a service hub within the community for parents and providers of childcare services for children of all ages - offering a base for childminder networks and a link to other day care provision, out of school clubs and extended schools.

Please follow the link below to Calderdale MBC's website listings of local Children's Centres:

Centres will also have links with local training and education providers, Jobcentre Plus and Families' Information Services.

About Calderdale MBC Nurseries
Calderdale MBC has three Ofsted registered local authority nurseries, situated in West Central Halifax, Ovenden and Brighouse.

Jubilee Children's Centre, Kevin PearceChildren's Centre and Wellholme Park Children's Centre all help the children attending their setting to achieve the five outcomes of the Every Child Matters agenda, namely:

being healthy
staying safe
enjoying and achieving
making a positive contribution
achieving economic well being.

All three nurseries are accredited to provide early education, and free early years education sessions are available for children aged three and four.

Our experienced staff teams' aim is to provide an inclusive, happy and safe environment in which all children can develop to their full potential.  Children leave the nursery ready for the exciting challenge of school!

We work closely with parents who are the primary carers and educators in their child's life and, by working in partnership with other local agencies, we can offer a package of support appropriate to each child's needs.

By holding regular meetings and events, we aim to ensure that parents feel as much a part of the nursery as the child.  Hopefully, you will share your talents, skills and time with us by assisting us to deliver the early years' curriculum - for example, by reading at home with your child or joining us on nursery outings.

Reductions are available for council employees (currently 15 per cent off fees) and a £2 reduction for families wishing to place more than one child.  Please contact the individual nursery for details of opening hours, fees and availability of places.
